Mike Waters

CEO

A materials science graduate and chartered engineer, Mike has over 28 years experience in fast-growing electronics businesses. He has worked in various general and commercial management positions with Mullard Ltd, Royal Philips BV, Delta Electronics Inc, and with his own consulting company. Having left the UK in 1993 to move to Asia, he now lives in The Netherlands. Mike is a director of Cambridge FPD Ltd.

 

Ray Maxwell

BTG

Ray is the founder of priv-ity Limited, a company that provides strategic advice to private equity groups and corporations. He is also the Chairman of Core Capital VCT IV, is an advisor to BTG plc, a UK listed Technology Company and serves on the Board of Mesophotonics Limited.
Prior to setting up priv-ity Limited, Ray was a Partner of INVESCO and a General Partner and Managing Director of INVESCO Private Capital (IPC) a New York based private equity group.
Ray graduated in Geography and Economics from London University in 1973, holds an MBA specializing in Finance, and is a member of the Securities Institute.

 

Sergio Levi

Quester

Sergio Levi is a Director on the ICT team, specialising in the Semiconductor and Electronics sector. He has over fifteen years of hands-on operational experience in the semiconductor industry, and brings to SPARK Ventures a deep understanding of commercializing technology in complex value chains and in exploiting technology transitions to create market value.
Prior to joining SPARK Ventures, Sergio spent 6 years as Vice President - Europe, Middle East and Africa at ON Semiconductor, a spin-off from the former Motorola Semiconductor Group, generating 1.3B$ in power management semiconductors worldwide. Prior to ON Semiconductor, Sergio had a 12-year career at Texas Instruments, the world's leader in digital signal processing and analog technologies, where he run the company’s sales and marketing group in the South Europe region.
An Italian national, educated in the USA, Sergio also has an MBA from INSEAD.

François Lainee

Auriga Partners

Following his thesis in theoretical physics at the CEA labs, François has been a research engineer in the field of electronic materials in the central laboratory of Thales (former Thomson CSF) and in the laboratory of Ecole des Mines de Paris, from 1988 to 1991. He then joined Thomson Broadcast, a subsidiary of Thomson Multimedia, where he was product marketing manager and product line manager, from 1992 to 1995.

François was then with McKinsey as a consultant in the fields of Hi Tech and Telecom from 1995 to 2002. He joined Auriga Partners in June 2002.

François is an alumni from Ecole Normale Supérieure, and belongs to the Corps des Mines. He is also doctor and agrégé in physics and is specialised in the fields of electronics, telecoms and information technology.
