John is the Director of business development at Mesophotonics Limited.

He is responsible for developing mesophotonics product and market focus, building customer relationships, contributing to the business strategy and communicating the benefits of Mesophotonics' technology.

Prior to joining Mesophotonics in November 2002 John was Director of Engineering for Sifam Fibre optics Ltd, and was intimately involved developing customer relationships and achieving a company growth rate of >400% per year. During this time John assisted in preparing Sifam for sale to JDS Uniphase for $100 million in 1999. Prior to this John was Senior Development Engineer for Coherent in California developing ultrafast and other solid state lasers for semiconductor manufacturing. John completed an MBA in 2002 at the University of Exeter with a dissertation on university entrepreneurship. He also received a Ph.D in Physics from the University of Southampton in 1993.

John has a long standing passion for commercialising technology.
