  Mesophotonics Ltd. is pleased to announce the signing of a joint marketing agreement with HORIBA Jobin Yvon.  
     
  The marketing partnership brings together the world leader in Raman spectroscopy systems and the company behind revolutionary new surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) substrate, Klarite. Together, the companies plan to support the further advancement of SERS in industry, providing researchers with the ability to push the boundaries of trace level detection in a variety of applications including drug discovery and production, forensics, homeland security and medical diagnosis.
 
“SERS is still perceived by many as the holy grail of Raman,” comments Andrew Whitley, Director, Raman Spectroscopy Division, HORIBA Jobin Yvon. “Its potential benefits are unrealized because of the inability to ensure consistent, reproducible results. This is no longer the case.”
 
Already being used in more than 100 academic and industrial laboratories worldwide, and compatible with existing Raman instruments, Klarite is one million times more effective than traditional laboratory-generated Raman substrates.
 
Offering very high levels of sensitivity, reliability and reproducibility it provides researchers with faster, more accurate analysis of biological and chemical samples at lower detection limits.
 
“I have no doubt that SERS will soon become a widely recognized and deployed analytical technique,” concludes John Lincoln, Business Development Director, Mesophotonics Ltd. “Since Klarite was launched early last year it has already opened the door to such a wide range of possibilities – from roadside drug testing devices to disease detection.
