Mesophotonics has been created as a technology development company, and will explore the further potential for photonic crystal circuits & devices whilst developing commercial applications and products. The company aims to grow to be the leading provider of planar waveguiding photonic crystal circuits and devices for microphotonics, telecommunications and computing applications.

Mesophotonics will grow and develop into a fully resourced organisation capable of utilising the full potential of integrated photonics. The company will initially concentrate on determining the performance capabilities of the technology, developing design rules and creating device demonstrators. The team is committed to taking the technology from its research roots and developing it through to commercial implementation.

Having proven the capabilities of photonic crystal devices, small batch production will allow the performance of circuits to be assessed, with commercial products being available in the marketplace shortly thereafter.
